Liverpool manager Arne Slot is focusing on the upcoming games rather than thinking about the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“It’s a situation that is there for eight or nine months now,” Slot said, “and I think all these three players have performed so well under these circumstances, so it doesn’t affect me at all.”
Slot sees that Alexandre Arnold’s injury, which made him miss the latest international week, has pushed the media to talk more about his contract.
Several media reports from months are telling that Real Madrid are keen to get the England right-back.
Alexander-Arnold’s deal is up this summer. He can even stay at Liverpool or leave the club for the next chapter in his professional football career.
He went injured when Liverpool faced Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last month (March 11) and were knocked out of the competition too.
On Wednesday, Liverpool will lock horns against local rivals Everton. And Alexander-Arnold will miss this crucial game too.
Slot added: “We have been focused on what we have to do. For Virgil and Mo, that is trying to win the Merseyside derby and for Trent it is making sure he is fit as soon as he can (be).”
