The fans at the 2025 Italian Open will not be able to see Novak Djokovic in action, as he has decided not to play at the prestigious tournament.

The Italian Open is part of the ATP Masters 1000. Last week, Matteo Arnaldi knocked Djokovic out in the second round of the Madrid Open.

Djokovic, who is a six-time Italian Open winner, is the most successful active tennis player at the moment. Overall, he is only behind retired Rafael Nadal. Nadal is the 12-time Italian Open champion. Djokovic has won 68 of 80 matches at the Italian Open, losing 12.

Back in 2022, he created history at the Italian Open after winning his 1000th career victory.
