Despite Neil Gourley will face competition from world champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen, the British athlete feels confident ahead of the 2025 European Indoor Championships.
Great Britain’s Gourley will compete in the 1500m on Thursday. The 2025 European Indoor Championships is taking place in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
Last month, Norway’s Ingebrigtsen managed to break his own record in France (indoor 1500m world record).
But Gourley is carrying good form too, with winning the UK Indoor Championships in February.
He said: “I’m in a position now where I’ll be looking at winning medals, absolutely.”
Winning at the upcoming event would make Neil ready for the World Indoor Championships in China later this month.
