The Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-88 in Minneapolis on Tuesday (NBA playoffs second round). However, star player Stephen Curry faced a hamstring injury beofre the half-time.
While defending the Timberwolves’ attack, the 37-year-old impacted the back of his left leg. At first, he tried to keep on playing before telling his team to get him out of action.
Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green made sure that in Curry’s absence, the Warriors could win with ease. They added a combined 62 points.
As per the initial reports, the two-time MVP might miss the next two games. However, the Warriors are waiting for the doctor’s reports.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr did give some clarity after the match.
Kerr said: “We’re definitely game-planning for him to not be available for game two but we don’t know yet.”
“With a hamstring, it’s hard to imagine that he would play.
“I talked to him at half-time, he’s obviously crushed. The guys picked him up and played a great game but we’re all concerned about Steph.
“It’s part of the game. Guys get hurt, you move on.”
The Warriors’ next game against the Timberwolves is on Thursday. There are high number of chances that Curry might miss the game.
