Ahead of a mega showdown between two British boxers on 26 April 2025 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, England, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn believes that Conor Benn is a must better fighter than Chris Eubank Jr.
The British promoter also positively feels that Benn has all the tools to beat Eubank Jr. without seeing size as a major problem.
The fight was first supposed to take place in Oct 2023. However, Benn failed two drug tests and this made the fight delayed for a long time.
However, Benn is now fully cleared to box anywhere. It is a Ring Magazine event that has captured the imagination of the fight fans in Britain.
Eubank Jr, 34-3 (25 KOs) and Benn, 23-0 (14 KOs) are set to face in the middleweight clash last April.
Speaking to The Ring Magazine, Hearn said: “I think Benn is a better fighter than Eubank.
“I think he’s fresher. I think he’s sharper and I think he’s better all round.
“But Eubank’s much bigger and that is what makes it a 50-50 fight. I think if this fight was at the natural weight classes – pound for pound – I think Conor would be a big favorite but the reality is, Eubank’s much bigger and people talk about the hydration and stuff like that, I’m not having my guy giving away two stone in the ring.”
The fight is being seen as two sons of great fighters carrying the legacy ahead of the name.
