It was the second press meet when the boxing world had a keen eye on Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn on Thursday in London, United Kingdom.
The fight is set to take place on 26 April 2025 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, England.
At first, the fight was taking place in Oct 2023. However, Benn failed two drug tests and hence the mega showdown was delayed for a long time.
Benn came out from all the allegations. However, there is still a section of media and fans who think one should have taken more action against Benn.
Reminding Conor about failed drug tests Eubank Jr said: “During this whole process over the last two-and-a-half years, I think many lines have been crossed. I’m sitting up here today, on stage, with two of the scummiest characters in boxing in my opinion: a drug cheat, and a man who did everything in his power to help him get away with it.”
With this statement, Eubank went against Benn and his promoter Eddie Hearn.
It was the second press conference of the week. The first one took place on Tuesday, where Eubank slapped Conor with an egg.
Hence, the security was loaded at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both fighters are looking motivated for this mega showdown in April. Conor has even started to knock Eubank out.
However, this time the fight is taking place in middleweight. It is the weight division Eubank feels comfortable while Conor is jumping two weight classes.
The fight carries the legacy of their fathers, who faced each other twice during their professional boxing days.
