Devdutt Padikkal, who is carrying a bit of sound touch with the bat in the Indian Premier League 2025 season, said after playing a key role in beating Mumbai Indians that it took him three to four years to adapt to this mega T20 affair.
Padikkal came back to RCB for the 2025 season. From 2019 to 2021, he was a part of Bangalore in the IPL. In 2022, he made a move to Rajasthan Royals. But this move too did not last longer as last season, he was a part of Lucknow Super Giants.
Devadatt Padikkal scored 37 runs in 22 balls against MI, helping RCB to win two points away from home on Monday.
Padikkal said: “I wasn’t very confident about myself and it took me three-four years to really find what I am as a cricketer in the IPL. It’s not that easy. You try your hardest, but at times it just doesn’t work.”
In four matches played in the IPL 2025, the 24-year-old has scored 78 runs. But he is confident of putting up a great show in the upcoming outings for RCB, who have won three of the first four games.
It is one of their best-ever starts in the IPL history. Padikkal scored just 38 runs in seven games played or LSG last year.
