England all-arounder Moeen Ali feels he has done a decent job as a replacement of Kolkata Knight Riders legend Sunil Narine, who missed the game due to illness.
Moeen came as a replacement in Wednesday’s game against Rajasthan Royals, taking two wickets for 23 runs in four overs.
He did not able to contribute well with the bat, scoring just five runs. However, his opening partner Quinton de Kock made a sound impact by adding unbeaten 97 runs to chase the target of 152 in just 17.3 overs.
Spinner Varun Chakravarthy did also perform well, taking two wickets and giving away 17 runs.
He said: “I got told this morning that Sunny [Narine] was not well and to just be ready whenever. Obviously, hard to replace Sunny but I felt like I did a nice job of it.”
In fact, it was the debut of Moeen Ali for KKR. From 2021 to 2024, he was the part of Chennai Super Kings.
