According to English News Paper Mail, Tottenham Hotspur want Rodrigo Bentancur to sign a new deal.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who joined the North London side in 2022 from Juventus, has appeared 74 times in the Premier League for Spurs, scoring eight goals and providing 7 assists.
His contract with Ange Postecoglou’s side will expire in the 2025 summer. However, Spurs wish him to sign a new deal.
Bentancur made negative remarks towards Sprus captain Heung-min Son in an interview, which he gave in Uruguay. This led him serve an eight-match domestic ban in 2024.
However, it has not limited the gametime of the Uruguay international. In fact, he has played 16 times in the PL this season for Spurs.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou gives Bentancur ample game time, seeing him as one of his most crucial players.
